How do I work?
I work from my office in Connecticut, communicating with clients via email, mail (or FedEx) and phone. I will meet with clients face-to-face who insist on it, but I bill for travel time, meeting time and all expenses. Routine phone calls are expected to be limited to normal east coast business hours, but midnight oil can and will be burned as needed to meet a promised deadline.

What's my turnaround time?
This question has no standard answer. It all depends on the scope of the project. I do pledge, however, to never accept a deadline I can't meet.

Which editing service do you need?
If you're not sure, it's best to send me your document (or an excerpt) for a free, no obligation estimate on how much work it needs. Different projects may require different levels of editing.

What will you get back when a document is edited?
If you send me hard copy of your document, I will mark it up the old fashioned (and, in my opinion, still the best) way, with a red pen and send it back. You can then make the changes yourself OR I can retype it for you for an additional fee. In either case, you will get your marked up original returned.
If you send me an electronic copy, you can specify if you want me to print it out and send you back a marked-up hard copy, or if you want to simply receive the corrected document back electronically. For an additional fee, using the "track changes" function, you may have the option of accepting or rejecting my edits.

What do I mean by "style?"
Style is a set of rules for usage, grammar, captitalization, punctuation, etc. There are a number of different style manuals to follow, such as Chicago, MLA, and APA. Some large corporations even have their own. Unless you request otherwise, I defer to the Associated Press Style Book.

How much do I charge?
The answer to this question varies by project, as no two writing assignments are ever the same. I am flexible, and am willing to work out hourly or project fees. I will ask you to sign a contract to avoid any misunderstanding. My fees for writing projects include one round of revisions that fall within the original scope of the project. Additional revisions or requests for a change in scope, will be billed hourly.

A word to students
Often, I am asked to work with students on college entrance essays, term papers, etc. I am happy to take on students as editing or proofreading clients or in a tutoring or mentoring capacity. I will HELP you with your work, but I will NOT ghost write your material for you. As a professional, I take cheating very seriously, so don't even ask me to go there.
